The Long Road Home

A very experimental progression of three pairs of cascading chords over six bars.

I think it works, but don’t know why. The notes perpetuate the journey, but never seem to fin their way home. No samples or loops, just playing all the iPad instruments to uncover the themes inside. There’s a melody here that is screaming for a saxophone, but I had to use a french horn and a flute… Of all instruments, why is there no sax in GarageBand?!

So, if Ian Anderson ran into an audio engineer walking at the end of St. John’s Wood, who could that be and where? Leave me a suggestion. Better yet, subscribe to my blog, and find out next week.

Demand Trooth

Did the really happen, or is my figment acting up again?

Another “What-If” GarageBand frankentune. Listen with headphones if you can. What d-ya think of this one? Leave a comment.

What? There is no trooth? Is there only one Truth? Your truth, my trooth, his truthe, their truith… Here we go on the political rant again!

Opinion is not truth.  Perspective is not truth.   Truth is not personal nor individual.  There is no “your truth” or “my truth”.  Truth can not be partial.  Truth must be whole, complete and absolute.  Otherwise, it is not true.  It is false.  How do we determine or decide that information we receive is true?  Only one generation ago, getting information on any topic required going to a trusted source and seeking or requesting information on a defined topic.  Now – only one generation later – information is so over-abundantly available, people are flooded by incalculable outside sources, and often completely overwhelmed by information.   They mostly assume all this information is accurate, trustworthy and true.  Most is not.  Information is heaped at people by advertising, news media, social media, even personalized direct messages at no cost to the receiver all to promote products, brands, services and socio-political perspectives and opinions.   Unless people are somehow prompted to question the massive volume of data, they naturally accept it as true, accurate and complete.  They believe almost everything they’re told is fact unless something is grossly wrong.  Because of the relatively new information overload state of our social environment, people need to develop new ways to limit, validate and control the amount and the quality of the information they receive.

Demand Truth!

Baditude

Syncopated funk rock experiment.

Yappy Hew Near!!!

Based on an off-beat drum kit exercise I’ve used for years. ‘Started with the drum part on the iPad, and added what I think a bassist and other players might add. What d’ya think? What does it need? What else could it have. Leave a comment and let me know…

Our Social War

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Our tree is wilting badly, and wants of refreshment.

Originally titled Chocolate Saturdae – think of this tune as Chocolate Sunday Eve…
Ha ha ha. This is an audio flirt with dissonance similar to shadows at the edge of light. Without dissonance there can be no perfect harmony…

But what does the Libertree have to do with it?

Time for another political rant…

The primary purpose of ALL government is to define, protect and preserve the civil rights of its’ citizens.

Our federal government is intentionally completely failing at this basic function.  Current office holders and career bureaucrats are trying to redefine the fundamental rights of citizens to the advantage of the politicians and special interests.

We are in a social war between those who value traditional American liberties and self-responsibility, and those who prefer the security of omnipotent government and submission to oppression and control.

The consent of the governed is devolving into the resentment of the ruled.

The American Civil War is described as the War of the Blue and the Gray.

Our current social war could be described as the war of the Blue and the Red.

The Red White and Blue of our American flag should represent

Honor, Purity and Truth – the blood, sweat and tears of our American heritage.

Our blue truth is being slowly tinted to green in the name of prosperity and profit.

Our white purity is being smeared with a rainbow of shades to praise diversity, pride and equity.

If our red honor fades to pink as the socialist bureaucrats complete their redefinition of our civil rights, we may lose the American Experiment forever.

Have we become our father?  How did this tyrannical karma fester in our society unrecognized for two centuries, to only now erupt into the viral wokeness which is devouring our core principles?

We assumed the foundation of our republic was strong enough to support any and all we could pile onto it.  Our democratic acropolis is cracking as we watch helplessly from within.  The integrity of the self-evident truths we hold so dearly is being tested.  Will our societal crucible produce platinum for future generations, or only slag for China and Europe to trample? How do we reinforce the footing of our republic to withstand this storm, and prepare for future unimagined peril?

What is under test is not the truths or their self-evidence, but the very concept of Truth itself.  What is truth?

Washington, Adams, Franklin, Jefferson and Madison have passed on their legacy.  Can Trump, DeSantis, Carlson, DeSouza and Owens rekindle the torch of Liberty?

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.  So we must all do whatever we can to deter or prevent that triumph.  “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”  Our tree is wilting badly, and wants of refreshment.

If this tune strikes you, leave a comment. Let me know what you like.

If my rant bothers you, please let me know how. But remember, I am The Mudemaster with omnipotent power to cancel your comments at my whim!
