Wah Th Funk?

Started with an old snare drum rudiment exercise applied to a kit. I wanted to get a Frank Beard – ZZ Top kinda sound, but getting a Billy Gibbons guitar sound on an iPad is WAY outa my reach! I had to use some “waka waka” guitar loops included in GB. This really needs to be at about 270 BPM, but my version of GarageBand only goes up to 240. C’mon guys! Why can’t the volume go to eleven and the tempo to 300? Didn’t you see Spinal Tap!!?

‘Started with a simple little drum part that sounded like something Mick would play. So if Mick played this and John played that, where would this end up? A fun experiment to try to imagine what might have been in their heads…

These are just a few loops from Apple and a few smart instruments. This is a laid back tune to pass the time while we all chill at home. GarageBand is such an easy way to make up a quick jam. Is this really a tune, or just some audio color for your ears?

Swinging Around

This is a melody that’s been bouncing around in my head since I was a kid. There are almost no Smart Instruments in this one. Reminds me of Capn Jack staggering around as the Pearl sways from side to side.
